32 Profiles to follow on Twitter in Wimbledon
Here’s a list of Twitter profiles I think are pretty handy to follow if you live in or are visiting Wimbledon. Whether it’s places to eat or shop, buy property, looking for things to do or simply staying in touch with local news I hope you’ll find these profiles as helpful as I do.
Food and Drink
@HandWimbledon – whether you’re at the pub or just on Twitter, they’ve always got time for a chat
@HotPinkGrill – relative newcomer to town, keeping you updated with some tasty pics and ideas of what to order from their menu.
@SticksnSushi_UK – cracking sushi restaurant. Twitter feed is full of chat and photos to make your mouth water
@TheAlexSW19 – always entertaining, find out if the roof terrace is rammed and what’s on the big screen (among other things)
@TheDogandFox – best place for a pint and a BBQ in the Village, especially when the tennis is on. Their feed will keep you fully updated.
@TheFoxandGrapes – from country pub to gastro pub, the feed features pics and menu info
@TheLawnBistro – headed up by resident French chef Ollie Couillard, tweets get straight to the point (great banter)
Shopping
@CentreCourtShop – offers, events and all the news from Wimbledon’s main shopping centre
@ElysWimbledon – offers, gift ideas and other shopping info from SW19’s premier department store
@GardeniaLondon – keeping the Village in bloom, and keeping you up to date with all things floral
@JW_Wimbledon – located in the Village (no surprise there) the Jack Wills stream generally promotes offers
@SWofWimbledon – keep up to date with what’s good to drink and hear all about their offers and wine tasting events
@WimbledonBooks – every town or village needs a good independent bookstore, this one is ours
@Windmill_Market – wonderful new monthly market with details of stalls and plenty of chat on their stream
House and Home
@EdwardFoley – one of the UK’s most influential property agents on Twitter (check out #3 here), always good value for info and a chat
@MuddyWelliesLtd – can’t forget about the garden, Muddy’s feed has plenty of gardening tips and quality ideas
@TheArtofBespoke – showcasing inspirational interior design, great if you’re thinking about sprucing things up at home
Local News and Magazines
@OneStopLocal – keep up to date on all manner of news, information and events
@SWLTV – new online TV channel featuring news and local interests from across south London
@TimeandLeisure – info on things to do, with plenty of competitions to win tickets to local events
@W_V_Events – keeping you up to date with all events throughout Wimbledon Village
@YourTownW – news from their online magazine covering happenings, weather and more
@OmarOakes – breaking news and reports from across South London
@Khaleda – Wimbledon News reporter, keeping you up to date with all the local happenings on Twitter
@LaurenWimbledon – stay on top of local news with the Wimbledon News’s chief reporter
Things to do
@DeenCityFarm – info on all happenings at the farm, which is a great spot to visit
@MordenHallPkNT – photos and info from the National Trust park
@NewWimbTheatre – stay up to date with the latest tickets and ‘coming soon’ panto’s, musicals, comedy and more.
@PolkaTheatre – ticket info and details on all children’s theatre shows for the coming months
@WimbledonCommon – info and news from the common, including events at the stables and updates on the swans
Sport
@Wimbledon – good to follow all year round, not just for 2 weeks in the summer
@HaydontheWomble – because everyone needs to follow at least one Womble on Twitter
